Miles River Walk and Talk

The Miles River, a key tributary of the Ipswich River, flows through Beverly, Wenham, Hamilton, and Ipswich. It plays a vital role in our ecosystem and water supply but faces serious challenges—flooding, drought, invasive species, and aging infrastructure. Pollution, low oxygen, and altered flow threaten both wildlife and drinking water.

But there’s hope. The Town of Wenham, in partnership with the Ipswich River Watershed Association and the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness Program, is taking action. A watershed study is underway to restore the river, improve water quality, reconnect habitats, and expand public access.

This is your chance to be part of the conversation. On April 16th join Ipswich River Watershed Association staff members to walk along the Miles River and talk about what we’ll be studying and solutions that are at hand.

Special Guests:

Molly Courson, Resiliency Program Director, Ipswich River Watershed Association
Sarah Dawson, Restoration Project Manager, Ipswich River Watershed Association

We will meet at the New England BioLabs parking lot at 240 County Road in Ipswich. Turn off of Route 1A and the parking lot will be immediately on your left. If you get to the New England BioLabs buildings, you’ve gone too far.
