Meet our Watershed Resiliency Planner, Molly Courson

Hello all!

I think one of my favorite fall activities is being able to sip warm coffee while watching the leaves change, and this morning I was so lucky to be able to do that from Riverbend while looking out over the Ipswich River.

I am thrilled to be joining the team at IRWA as the Watershed Resiliency Planner. My background includes both government and nonprofit planning work, which began in the Washington DC metro region before relocating closer to home in Salem, Massachusetts, in 2019. I have been able to be a part of a number of projects and programs that centered community-driven opportunities for change, and I thoroughly enjoy helping create and manage planning processes that bring everyone to the table.

My goal is to support and strengthen our existing community partnerships, advance IRWA’s Municipal Services program, and help our watershed communities achieve sustainability and resiliency goals which provide benefits for the Ipswich River and all who enjoy it.

Looking at the riverbank – a symbiotic relationship between the water, soils, plants, and animals – reminds me of the truth that all actions have implications on more than just ourselves, and I am excited to be a part of an organization that protects and preserves such a critical resource for our communities.

I look forward to getting to know the IRWA community!
